Full Product Description
Maison M. Chapoutier Crozes-Hermitage Les Meysonniers 2023 is an elegant French red wine from Crozes-Hermitage in the Northern Rhône Valley. Made from 100% Syrah, this wine offers the classic character of Northern Rhône Syrah in an approachable, fruit-forward, and food-friendly style. Folio Fine Wine Partners notes that Les Meysonniers is made from organically grown grapes, with traditional vinification using punching down and pumping over in concrete tanks.
The wine shows a very intense purplish-red colour. On the nose, it opens with red fruits, blackcurrant, raspberry, violet, black raspberry, pepper, wildflowers, and spice. On the palate, it is ample and round, with fleshy tannins, floral lift, black fruit character, and a finish of stewed fruits and vanilla. Chapoutier’s technical sheet notes that the wine is aged mainly in unlined concrete vats, with around 10% in barrels for approximately 12 months.
This is a great choice for customers looking for a quality French Syrah that has depth and elegance without being too heavy. Serve it with roast veal, grilled lamb chops, steak, duck breast, roast pork, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, hard cheese, and hearty French-style dinners.
